It’s the same in life; you can learn things from a bad boss, a bad teacher, that are just as useful as things from a good boss and a good teacher. There are times you’ll be self-critical, and be certain you have no business in the class, and times you’re certain you’ve written the next great fill-in-the-blank.
We believe that all students benefit from the discipline of writing out of their own and out of imagined experience, and from submitting that writing, in small classes, to the criticism of instructors and other student writers.
Visiting professionals will include local poets, graphic novelists, newspaper editors, literary agents, screenwriters, and novelists.
The Design Center Put your creative writing design skills to work in the Ringling College Design Center.
In this curriculum, you’ll encounter a range of aesthetics, a global perspective, coursework in historical, contemporary, and digital literary forms, craft instruction from practicing writers/teachers, and close interaction with visiting authors, scholars, and publishing professionals.
Most important, at Ringling College, you’ll learn by doing.
With networks around the region and the country, we help you gain exposure to professional best practices and practical application of your technical skills.
We are constantly connecting with industry professionals to find new, exciting opportunities to put your skills to work and get a taste of real-world work demands.
